Christopher and Sara ScargillSara Scargill B.A.(Hons)- Research Co-ordinator

Sara grew up in South London and her interest in genealogy began at an early age. A graduate of the University of Leicester and qualified teacher, Sara became a partner in the business in 1985 and has over 35 years research experience using archives in many parts of the country. For a number of years she has specialised in Staffordshire and Derbyshire. She has extensive experience using a wide range of genealogical sources in Record Offices, libraries and other repositories as well as online resources. Sara has a good working knowledge of Latin, which is often used in early documents, and can also offer translation from and to French and Spanish.

Christopher Scargill B.A.(Hons) M.A., B.Th.- Consultant

Born in Dewsbury (W. Yorks), Christopher established the business in Yorkshire in 1983, and is trained in medieval Latin and palaeography. A retired Church of England clergyman, he has written on a number of aspects of local and church history. Christopher is available to advise on and translate/decipher early documents, as well as offering advice on ecclesiastical records and pre-parish register genealogy.
